1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS WRX semi-conversion
106xxx Miles on Car. New Hi Compression, High Performace engine built and installed at 58xxx miles, 48xxx Miles on engine (have all documentation). Engine is extremely high torque, and get's very good city mileage. 210 PSI on Snap On compression gauge checked at time of build. New block was a Phase II short block that came from Subaru of Milford (thanks guys, you rock!!) Also has the 4 ply head gaskets, so a headgasket failure should never happen on this engine.
Custom camshafts, port matched intake side on heads, port matched intake manifold, ported exhaust side on heads. If you've driven an RS, you'll feel the difference immediately. Runs awesome. Runs right there with Gen 1 US WRX's.
5 Speed Manual Transmission (new clutch went in 48000 miles ago with motor)
The good;
Adult and actual Professional Mechanic owned.(not some backyardigan) Same owner for last 10+ years. Car is very clean, very well maintained. Doesn't get driven much (as reflected by the mileage) It's my ski-mobile that I take up to the mountains and that's about it. I drive the work truck most of the time. I'm moving to FL later this month and won't be taking with me. Clean title. Also have title in hand
Has Many, Many extras.
* STI Version 6 struts, springs, and strut bearings (these came from Japan, Thanks Mike Sheilds)
* 3 Position Adjustable rear sway bar
* STI Cat back exhaust, Throaty and deep sounding, but not annoying any whiney
* JL Audio 3 ways front components in custom made kick panels
* Alpine CD
* Drivers side Recaro sport seat on sliding bracket
* 3 Point Schroth race belt
* Twin Heads up displays, (Came from Japan, same as in F16 Jets, these units were close to 600$ Each to get to the states, plus installation) Wicked cool and unique.
* Fast car, real head turner, real corner holder, This car will out turn a porsche.
* Compeletly rebadged with Authentic STI/WRX badges from Subaru Of Japan
* No silly rubber shift boot, it has the leather one
* Recent tires (less than 1 year old) Nothing to fancy, just 60K mile goodyears, but they do well in the snow.
The Bad,
Not much. No mechanical problems at all. Car has been garaged most of it's life with me, but paint is typical of a 12 year old car. 1 or 2 minor rust spots, but nothing you can't fix in an afternoon. No rot or anything like that. The only real bad is somebody slid into the drivers side rear corner a few years ago while it was parked. (at a ski mountain... go figure) I repaired the dent but new factory paint just doesn't match 12 year old paint, no matter how much you try and blend it. If your better than body work than I am you can try wet sanding/buffing it some more to see if you can get a better match. It's not aweful, but the match is more like an 80% match instead of a 100% match.
This is a rare car with many extras. Asking price is best offer over $6000. I'll be showing the car for the next week or so, and will call back the top 3 bidders. Whomever can come up with the funds to support their offer first wins it. Cash or local bank check only. Personal checks from local banks will be accepted, but you will have to wait until I can cash it before you can take delivery.
No Monkeys, test pilots, rookies. I will show you the car and take you out on a test drive. But you will have to have proof of insurance (comprehensive and collision) in order to drive yourself. Your more than welcome to have it go to a mechanic of your choice (at your expense) if you want it professionally inspected. But it has to go to a licensed, insured shop, not a backyard buddy.
If you have any questions or would like a phone number shoot me a PM (not posting to keep scammers away). Car is located in Dunstable MA, 01827. Near Nashua NH.
Thanks for looking!!
