Alright well the project is now beginning. I'm taking my 2.5 RS and will be turning it into an ear-shatteringly loud, gravel eating, dirt chewing, rally-X car.
So here is the start:

The mods thus far are mostly visual.
Prodrive P7 Rims fitted with Yokohama ES100 tires.
STi hood with aqua style reverse hood scoop (painted to match)
CB antenna with Cobra CB radio :rolleyes:
Borla replica headers
Mods on the way within the next two weeks include:
Custom powder-coated lightbar
Custom rally skid plate with plasma cut logo/design
4 Hella 500 lights (2 driving and 2 fog)
Hella supertones (it just wouldn't be right without them!)
Stromung HFC
Stromung dual-tip catback
~1" suspension lift
Cleared headlights
Custom shift knob (talking with lathe werks now)
Rallyarmor mud flaps
Future mods down the road a month or more are:
Speedline rally wheels with Pirelli rally tires
Custom Imprezaworld decal set
I have a set of acura TSX headlamps (more importantly the projectors inside them) waiting to go in. That wont happen until I get the HID bits
Also there is a 7" touchscreen sitting right next to me. That is still waiting on the completed build of the carputer. Here is a preview however

Well the original plan was a mac mini. But the cost of one might be the limiting factor. That's just hooked up to my PowerMac G5 as a test.
It's definetly possible to put a mac mini in a subie though!

anyone in the Pittsburgh area have a spare midpipe? I'm about to get the full headerback so I don't want to spend too much. I'd be willing to pay to rent a catback :-p
oh and the car sounds mean as hell right now..
Forgot to mention.. got it welded up and the car is not so obnoxiously loud. It was real fun at night turning heads (I even got a guy sitting on a harley at a stoplight to spin his head round to see what was making the racket), but once daylight came and people in their 30s-40s were on their way to work on a nice quiet morning, I felt a bit embarrassed to have a car so loud and violent that the change in my cup-holder was jumping around. That and I had a headache after 10 minutes.
The RS looks good!

Stromung exhaust on the way, hella supertones installed, custom light bar being designed, legacy wheels for winter on the way shortly... well i'll post pics later

Haha the stromung just came and I now have a Forester XT exhaust sitting in my garage as well. I need to take pics once I get the Legacy wheels/winter tires on. Going on today. It's snowing here..

Well I've been off the radar for a bit... but there is some new light dawning. New job at subaru and perhaps a big big change for the GD RS. I've started contacting some people that might be able to help me make it happen.

Alright either I'm getting a JDM v.8 Twin Scroll Sti Drivetrain
or I'm buying a v.7 type RA swapped GC8 with a 20g.
both will cost me around the same exact price.
I suppose it's time to lift the veil of secrecy. It's not a 100% sure done deal as the car needs a bit of work and I need to determine if the money is right... but it's a very very very strong possibility

Again, the car is not in my possession yet... but I've pretty much decided to go for this.
It has a v.4 STi 5-speed with 4.44FD so it might not be the most casual smooth driving cars out there. It'll definitely be a blast though! It's just too sweet for me to ignore.
